Implementing Partner: Youth Health Africa
Description/Activities: Reorganization of filing systems to ensure ease and efficiency of finding and maintaining patient charts; developed a user-friendly process for organizing patient files
What Makes the Intervention Unique/Different: It is a cost saving intervention that shares the cost between Youth Health Africa (YHA) and multiple DSPs; YHA covers monthly stipend of each intern for 12 months and DSP covers cost of venue and accommodation for initial orientation and venue for subsequent monthly 1-day training sessions with YHA.
Impact Data: Reduced patient waiting times for files from 1-2 hours to < 5 minutes; the approach is now being scaled country-wide, including expansion of linking Peace Corps Response Volunteers with DSPs
